This exhibition highlights a new body of work by Martin. It sees him returning to his large narrative paintings. Using twilight as an allegory, we embark on a journey through the gloaming hour of relationships, flights of fancy and tales of love, loss and regret.
The show also encompasses other aspects and themes of Martin’s. Rich, densely layered illustrative pieces that weave a love of Brixton, old records, procrastination, wild flowers, anecdotes, childhood recollections, short stories, poems and songs into whimsical, enigmatic and slightly melancholic works.
